Noted- 7 Dots Studio August Challenge

This month's challenge at 7 Dots Studio is very special for me. The theme is "The Five Senses" and you can interpret it any way you want.

I loved interpreting the theme this month. We sometimes take our five senses for granted and its so important to be in touch with them: to feel the touch of an object or of another human being, listening to a song or listening to a friend, watching a beautiful sunset or the smile on a child's face, smelling the scent of your favourite flower or your favourite yummy food and lastly tasting the food or speaking words of love. Most importantly I focused on words. Words can be spoken through your mouth and heard through your ears. People sometimes choose to say words that aren't nice and should not be spoken. The world would be a better place if only words of love and peace would be heard. So I wrote this quote across my layout: 'If you don't understand my silence, you won't understand my words'. Its one of my favourite quotes and it was perfect for this layout. I used to have a button with this quote pinned to my backpack as a teenager and the words always felt true to my heart

I added some Prima flowers and vines as if hanging down my my hair. Then I added some more flowers around the page.

Underwater Paradise- Prima Pinwheel stencil and Finnabair Mediums- Video Tutorial

I created this layout to feature the new Pinwheel Stencils from Prima. I used the round 9" stencil along with the new Finnabair mediums and the Epiphany collection to design this layout.

The Pinwheel stencil is so versatile as you can create various textures on your backgrounds with the same stencil without having to switch stencils or wash them in between uses. I used some Finnabair Art Basics light paste over one pattern then I spun the wheel and used a different pattern altogether.

Below is a step by step video on how I created this layout, enjoy!!

I love this picture of my son at our local Aquarium. His shadow agains the blue water tank is so prominent. I loved creating a matching background for this photo using different Color Bloom Sprays.

You are my Happiness- Blue Fern Studios Reveal part 1

Its my turn again on the Blue Fern Studios blog.

This is the first layout I created using the Ombré Dreams Ginger's Dream Paper.

I used the Wild Flourish Frame to frame my photo. I altered it by adding texture over it using Martha Stewart textured paste and a Tim Holtz Stencil. Then I sprayed it with two different Prima Color Bloom Sprays: Sorbet, Vintage Coal and Lime Wedge

I added the same texture and colours to the background and then stamped some branches and birds using Tim Holtz stamps and black archival ink.

Finally I added some matching Prima flowers and a title  using the word Happiness from the Good Vibes set and Voila!!

Fly- Bird House OTP with Prima Chalkboard paint

Prima has a new set of products called Chalkboard paints and they come in many different colors and I used golden brown.

I altered a small wooden birdhouse I picked up at the dollar store. After priming it with gesso, I used the newChalkboard Paint from Prima to paint it golden brown. Accenting with Prima flowers and embellishments add the perfect finishing touches.

I also added some stamping around the birdhouse and tied some jute twine around.

This is my last project for the Flying Unicorn Your Passion Your Art August kit.

This Triangular Canvas is part of the Mixed Media Art Kit and I've designed a home decor piece with it.

I painted the canvas with golden brown Prima's chalkboard paint and then created a pattern on the background.

I used lots of Flying Unicorn embellishments and some Prima flowers.
