Cherish- 2 Crafty Reveal Part 2

Here is my second layout this month for my 2 Crafty reveal.

I've used the C'est Magnifique July Kit to create this layout.

I used the Frame round ornate to frame my picture. I covered with gesso and the stamped it with a script stamp and edged it in black coal fluid edger.

I used the Chevron border along the page. I primed it with gesso and then covered it in dimensional gel paint by Art Anthology. Then stamped it with a doily pattern.

The last 2 Crafty piece I used was the Cherish title. After priming in gesso, I inked it in red Inka Gold paste.

Thanks- Sketchbook 365 August Challenge

Its a new month at Sketchbook 365 and we have a new sketch for you today!!

I really love this picture and there's a story behind it like any picture but I think I'll let you interpret it any way you want. Just know that G-d is watching you and shining a ray of light on each and every one of us.

This is one of my favorite color combos and I used lots of Prima flowers to embellish this old collection from Basic Grey.

I used one of my favorite Elemental masks from Finn's 2013 Summer release. I masked the circles using molding paste and then painted them with Pearlescence peach colored acrylic paint and gesso.

Finally on the sides, I added words that are very meaningful to me and that make my soul soar!

Papers: Basic Grey
Flowers: Prima

light molding paste
Gesso, cheesecloth

In Your Eyes- 13 Arts Monthly Reveal

Here is my first project for this month using the papers from 13 Arts new collection Faces of Spring.

I used the paper "In your eyes" from the Faces of spring collection because it fit the theme of my picture perfectly. Here is my son, hiding behind his hat and I can barely see his eyes.

I love the song by Peter Gabriel "In your eyes" and while I was designing this layout, I kept on singing it in my head.
I used gesso to mask some chevrons onto the page. Then I added some watered down Green 13 Arts ink to add some color to the background.
Finally using some 2 Crafty chipboard chevrons, I covered them thickly in 13 Arts Gesso and then stamped them with a crackle roller stamp.

13 Arts Materials:
Faces of Spring collection
Green Twigs
13 Arts Gesso
13 Arts green Ink

Other Materials
Prima: flowers, leaves, resins, nest, metal lamp and clothes pin.
2 Crafty Chevron Chipboard

Always & Forever- 2 Crafty Monthly reveal part 1

Its my turn again at the 2 Crafty Blog today and here is my first creation for this month.
I created 2 Shabby Chic layouts this month, quite different from my usual mixed media layouts but still using similar techniques.

For this monochromatic layout, I used the Floral Branch and the Love Bird Swing. I simply painted them in a tan colored paint and then doodled on them with a brown pen.

I used lots of matching Prima flowers to decorate around the branches and photo.

As this is a picture of my husband and I, I decided to use the title Always and Forever. I also painted it in light acrylic paint and inked it with brown fluid chalk edger.

Materials
Papers: Basic Grey
Chipboard: 2 Crafty
Flowers and metal bird: Prima
resin nest: The Trinket Track
Branch Bark fluid chalk edger by Prima
gesso, cheese cloth

Encourage- Tag- Prima School Memories collection

Prima is having another sneak peek up on their blog today. The new School Memories collection is being featured and I made this tag with it.

Prima's not going old-school with this collection filled with fun school sayings, flair buttons, trendy accents, and more! You'll love the retro images of days gone by mixed in with the latest and greatest accents and embellishments...perfect for scrapbooking your children's school adventures, or your own!

SP School Memories-

Included in this collection:
Hexagon Sugar Dots: dots in a fun geometric shape.
Chipboard Shapes: perfect sayings and images for titles, accent,s and more.
Wood Buttons: just check out the sweet designs on these wood buttons.
Trendy Flair: hola and Let's Do This are just two fabulous flair examples.
Custom Coordinating Flowers: Of course we have worked hard to come up with new shapes and designs for your floral accents.

This is a perfect tag to add to a graduation gift, or give to a child to show him/her how proud you are.

This new La Tiza black flowers (above) are amazing. They have a black smooth surface like a real blackboard. You can write with chalk, stamp or I'm guessing even emboss on them. I wrote a few encouraging words on each petal both on top and underneath. When I lifted the petals to write, it reminded me of the cootie catchers we used to make as kids.

Explore- Art Banderoli Travel Album

This is my last page for my 6 months GD at Art Banderoli. This is the last layout for the travel book and its also the last photo I have of our trip to Florida in December. I love making beach pages as you might have noticed, so I don't know what I'm going to do as we won't be going to a beach anytime soon.
I might take some pictures down by the lake, that might work lol.

This is my second time using the 2 Crafty Palm Trees. I used them for another beach layout and now for my final beach layout of this album. I simply covered them in crackle paint and then dabbed them with gesso once the paint was dry. I also used the pointing finger sign which I only painted in gesso.

I got inspired by this beautiful July mood board from Maja Designs. Its just perfect for the beach theme!!

Mood-Board-July

There's also a challenge at the Shimmerz blog and Facebook and its super easy. You just have to use a mask and Shimmerz products. I used a Crafter's Workshop mask to create the ocean and 3 different shades of Shimmerz blues: Rock a fella, Sea foam and Jenny B Blue.

Time Flies- Altered Clock- Prima Anna Marie Collection

Another Sneak peek today on the Prima Blog and this time its a sneak of the Anna Marie collection

I made this altered clock that I got on sale for 5 dollars. I opened it up and covered the inside with one of the Anna Marie papers. Then I added a picture of my kids sitting on a log.

SP Anna Marie

I used some Prima flowers from the Anna Marie collection pack and lots of pink roses to embellish around the frame. I also added a pink thistle vine for added effect.

I embellished with a resin key (from the new releases) and two Ingvild Bolme resin birds from last year.

Finally I added the title "Time flies" because time truly passes so fast and my kids are growing rapidly right in front of my eyes.

Pure Bliss- 13 Arts Challenge #9

Here is the layout I created for this month's challenge at the 13 Arts Blog.

Here is Challenge #9
Rules:
- Create any project using 3 colors from the palette. You can add neutral colors: white, gray and black
- use minimum two mediums (inks, mists, etc.)
- use any stencil in minimum two different ways (for example by using ink, mists, modeling paste or gesso, drawing shapes etc.)

As a background I used the "Natural Beauty" paper from the Faces of Spring collection. I wanted to have a neutral background so I can add all my mixed media on top.

I started by masking some chevrons with the 13 Arts gesso and some flowers with modeling paste. Then I stamped some images with archival ink. Finally I sprayed and colored with 13 Arts yellow and orange pearl sprays and adding 13 Arts Pink Ink.

Finally I embellished with lots of flowers to match the flowers on my daughter's dress.

This is us, Best Friends- Prima BAP- July

Its that time of the month to introduce the Prima BAP for July.

Come check out the Prima blog for this months inspiration including this layout designed by moi!

This lovely sketch fit perfectly with my style. I white washed the flowery background with some white gesso, leaving both corners intact. Then I masked some flowers with the new Elementals stencil from Finn's new line.

They've also changed the way you send you layouts. Instead of sending them to Sharon, you get to link them directly to  the bottom of the BAP post. Now we can all enjoy everyone's creations!!!

I loved layering this layout with lots of bright colors from the Anna Marie collection. Stay tuned this upcoming Monday for its reveal.

This is a picture of my daughter and I and I thought it would be perfect for this girly collection.
I  used the resin heart from Ingvild Bolme and then added the title chipboard on top as a title.

Free- Red White and Blue Inspiration at the Prima blog

I'm up on the Prima blog today with a red, white and blue palette perfect for the 4th of July. Although  I don't celebrate it here in Canada, I though I could combine those colors to create a summer beach layout.

I got inspired by the 12x12 Elemental stencil. The shape reminded me of the ocean's waves and I wanted to create a serene beach layout.

I used pieces of papers in both reds and blues to match the July 4th red-white and blue palette.

I used deep, rich Shimmerz sprays in both blues and turquoise to get the water in different shades, like the real ocean. I used Jenny B Blue, Sea Foam and Rock-a-fella blue. This was the perfect layout to combine with a challenge at Shimmerz which requires you to use a mask. Check out the challenge here on the Shimmerz blog.

I used lots of matching Prima flowers for embellishments and the resist canvas alphabet which I didn't even color.
